Hanger Steak Salad
Grilled Little Gem, Marinated Hanger Steak, Cotija, Pepitas, Cilantro, Pickled Onions, Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Roasted Garlic, Guajillo Dressing
My favorite steak salad. We could not believe how delicious it was. The hanger steak was very beefy and flavorful and had a great char taste from the grill. The little gem was perfectly crisp, cotija added saltiness, pepitas added crunch and pickled onions a nice sweetness to the dish. The star of this dish was the guajillo Dressing. It was very addicting. I wish they sold bottles of it. I could eat this salad every day!
Suckling Pig (achiote-marinated & slow-cooked in banana leaves), Black Beans, Arugula Salad, Roasted Habanero Salsa
This was a nice dish too, but after that flavorful salad, it paled in comparison. The suckling pig was tender and flavorful. The black beans was good, but not as great as one we had at the Frontera Grill in Chicago. Also for what they charged for this dish, they could afford to give you a little more beans. The arugula salad added a little brightness to the dish.
Cilantro-Mint Cake, Toasted Coconut Pudding, Zaya Rum Soaked Pineapple, Crispy Coriander Meringue, Tamarind-Rum Sorbet
I was intrigued by the ingredients and had to try this. We enjoyed the herby cilantro mint cake. The rum soaked pinapple and the coconut pudding were the perfect partners. The coriander meringue was too sweet, but the tamarind rum sorbet was beyond delicious. A great balance of sweet and sour. Next time we should just order that sorbet. A very creative dessert and with the exception of the meringue, a successful one.
Service was very friendly and helpful. We will be back.
