Bowery Bungalow’s food is a mix of Mediterranean, North African and Levantine cultures. The restaurant is located inside a cute little cottage with an indoor and outdoor sitting. The prices were very reasonable, the food was tasty and the service was friendly. What else could you ask for? Wait, there is one thing, the ladies bathroom needs to be remodeled badly. They could easily fix it so you have a good overall impression of the place.
The Benedict Cakes Blue Crab with 2 Poached Eggs, Aleppo Pepper Hollandaise & Braised Market Greens
This was a great dish and we could not believe that it was only $14. The bread part was very thin and crisp with plenty of sweet blue crab. The hollandaise had a nice kick from the aleppo pepper and the side of greens were beyond delicious thanks to the bright lemony dressing. A great bargain and very satisfying.
Mediterranean Baguette Sandwich
Spanish Chorizo with Fried Egg, Mideast Sheep Cheese, Garlic Spread, Market Greens, Sumac
This was our kind of breakfast sandwich. The baguette was flavorful and was toasted nicely. The garlic spread and chorizo were very good additions, meanwhile the cheese added a hint of umami. Sumac is one of my favorite spices so you can put that on anything to elevate it.
