I first heard about Istanbul Grill California on Food Talk Central and after checking out the pictures decided to give it a try. The place was surprisingly large and airy with big windows. The service was friendly but like most other Mediterranean/Turkish/Persian places they overcooked the meats. It is like they are afraid to cook anything to less than well-done.

It was smoky but not much of it on the plate and it would have been nice if it was a little less cold.
Kofte kebab
It had a nice seasoning but unfortunately it was overcooked.
Ribeye Steak Kebab
If you are using ribeye why on earth overcook it? Some pieces were cooked to medium but most were overcooked. I am not a white rice eater and liked the fact that I could eat some veggies with my meat.
