Des Gâteaux et du Pain left a great impression on us on our previous visit to Paris. We tried to check out their new location on Rue du Bac on a Tuesday, but the store was dark. I was afraid that they might have closed that location but later on we found out that they are closed on tuesdays. First of all the location is near the new Jacques Genin and La Pâtisserie des Rêves. Imagine if your hotel was in the corner of this street. We went there after 7 PM and they were out of a few things considering the time of the day.

Pain aux Fruits
Sourdough with Apricots, Prune, Figs and Hazelnuts
Was I glad we had a divine bread to eat the next day? You better believe it and it was only 4.80€. Tears!!
It went very well with my cheddar from the Isle of Mull.
Pain Noir
Rye Flour, Sunflower Seeds, Sesame Seeds, Flax Seeds, Poppy seeds and Apple fiber
My kind of bread. Nice and dense with plenty of seeds.
Pain au Chocolat
Well, we ate this the day after we purchased it so the texture obviously suffered. It was buttery and had good amount of chocolate though.
J’Adore La Fraise
This was our breakfast dessert!! It was pretty good. Full of strawberries and cream.
