Most people know Chef Timothy Hollingsworth of Otium, from his previous work at The French Laundry. The space is modern and bright with big windows and an open kitchen. Prices are high for the portions. Service was friendly and helpful.
Buckwheat Blini Smoked Salmon, Red Onion, Creme Fraiche
I picked this dish thinking of a traditional blini, but it was more like a crisp flat bread. My husband specially enjoyed it. The smoked salmon and creme fraiche satisfied.
Beef Cheeks Bok Choy, Jasmine Rice, Coconut Cashew
I chose this dish for my husband and he enjoyed it. There was a little too much rice and too little sauce though. The beef was good and we loved the coconut cashew sauce. The bok choy was neccessary so it would give you a little fiber and prevent you from going to a carb coma.
Mille Feuille Vanilla Mousseline, Hazelnut Praline
As soon as I sat down, I inquired about my favorite dessert, Mille Feuille. Our waiter told me it was a good one and indeed it was, but at the hefty price of $14. If it was a little bigger, you could justify the price. It tasted great though. Nice and crisp, the way it should be. What stole the show was the hazelnut praline. As we were talking to our waiter about how much we enjoyed it, one of the staff whisked away our plate. I was like NO, we did not scrape the hazelnut praline around the plate yet. He ran and brought it back. He was the best and so friendly.
