We stopped here because our first stop, Mah-Ze-Dahr bakery, was closed. Thankfully I had categorized my list by the neighborhood and Dominique Ansel’s Kitchen was a short walk. The space was very small and you had a little stadium seating area in one side. We saw chef Ansel on the upper level of the shop.

Canelés de Bordeaux, Brown Sugar DKA
The cannelé was the best I have had since the last time we had it at Dominique Ansel bakery. The outside was perfectly crisp and the interior was nice and moist with a hint of rum. The brown sugar DKA was perfect. Nice and crisp texture with plenty of butter and not too sweet. After all he is famous for his kouign amann.
