Arcade Bakery was highly recommended and because of the holiday weekend they were closed for a few days. Luckily it was open on our final day in Manhattan. After eating our goodies, I googled the pastry chef, Roger Gural and realized he used to be the head baker for Bouchon bakery in Northern California.
Pain au Chocolat
It was a good chocolate croissant with a nice texture and dark chocolate filling.
Ham and Cheese Croissant
The ham and cheese croissant was less successful. Not enough ham to make a good impression.
Chocolate Hazelnut Danish
The best item we tried was this Danish. The texture was amazingly crisp and buttery. The hazelnut and chocolate made it even more decadent. The earl grey tea was very fragrant.
