Roasted Bartlet Pear Salad
Honey Crisp Apple, Arugula, Goat Cheese, Pistachios, Pomegranate
This was a delicious salad but we were all shocked at how small it was. I rather pay a little more and get something more substantial. Also some of the pear slices were unripe and there was about a 1.5 tbsp of goat cheese on the plate. The lemon zest helped to brighten the dish.
BBQ Pulled Pork
Carolina Tavern Slaw, Butter Pickles, Sweet Potato Fries + Mustard Aioli
My husband’s dish was the clear winner among what we ordered. The pulled pork was moist and had a nice smokiness to it. The sweet potato fries was pretty good also.
Chinese Chicken Salad
Napa Cabbage, Romaine, Shaved Vegetables, Tangerines, Cashews, Sesame Seeds, Ginger Soy Dressing
I don’t know why mom ordered this and she said the chicken was overcooked. I tried the salad sans the chicken and it was fine.
“Bacon & Eggs”
Deviled Eggs, Thick Cut Bacon, Red Onion Jam
This was my other choice. The bacon tasted OK and I think it was deep fried. The egg and sweet onion jam complemented each other.
Cod, Fries, Malt Vinegar Dust, Tavern Slaw, Tartar Sauce
This was my father’s choice and it was OK. My parents were hoping for one large piece of fish, but what they got was three small pieces of over fried fish. The fries was not crisp either. The only interesting thing was the malt vinegar dust. The chef came up with that in order to keep the fish crisp.
