We stopped at Grand Central Market for brunch before heading to the LA Art Show. It was between this place and Wexler’s Deli. Since the latter didn’t serve their sandwiches before 11:00 am my husband got his wish and we had brunch here. He was going to order his usual hash dish but I convinced him to try something new. He considered the fried pork chop, but at the end chose the lamb chop. As soon as we placed our order they took down the special signs. I guess we were the last ones to receive this two dishes. Service was friendly.
Lamb Chops and Eggs
The pork chops were cooked just right and were not gamey, which is a big plus for us. It came with pickled veggies and two eggs and not much else. it would have been nice to have a little starch on the side.
Steak and Eggs
My dish on the other hand came with a huge portion of polenta. Like I need all that carb!! I gave more than half of it to my husband. The steak had a great flavor, but It was cooked a little longer than med-rare, which is a shame when you have great quality beef. I felt the portion was a good value for $18.
