Roy Choi’s restaurant Commissary is located on the second floor roof of the Line hotel in Koreatown. The vegetables are the focus in this restaurant. We had a reservation through Open Table, but they could not find it in their system even though I showed them our reservation on the OT app. As we were leaving I asked them again to check and see if they can find our reservation because I didn’t want to receive a no show email from OT. They said their system was down and not to worry. Guess what? The next morning I got the famous no show email!!
There is no description on the menu and it is kind of awkward that you have to ask your server about each dish.
Grilled Lettuce with Avocado, Pear and Bacon
We enjoyed the grilled lettuce, the buttery avocado, the salty bacon and the sweet pear. I was not so crazy about the sweet dressing though.
This hash browns were such a let down. It hardly had any seasoning. My husband commented that they looked like a diner’s hash browns. I forgot that the good version is served at the Pot, his other restaurant on the first floor.
It was a respectable version, but I am not sure if it was worth the $20 price tag.
