I had heard of this brunch pop up for a while now and since it was supposed to be grain-centric it piqued my interest. Because of the location of this venue, it took us about 10 minutes to find a parking space. Once you enter through the gate, you see a very lovely garden. We checked in with the hostess, but they didn’t check us in with the Open Table. I had a bad feeling and even before we left I asked the bartender to make sure we were a show in their system and he assured me that he will take care of it. As soon as we got home I checked the Open Table and sure enough they marked us as a no show. This had happened a few times lately. If you are part of the OT, please check people in!!
French Press Coffee
Their coffee had a smooth citrus note.
Simple Salad
This was a very basic salad with very fresh greens.
Thai Fried Rice with Egg
My husband was surprised when he got his dish and said that the brunch dishes that I make at home look much better than that and he has been spoiled!! I don’t blame him! As he took a bite he was relieved that it tasted good, but charging $16 for some rice and one fried egg is a bit much.
Buckwheat Bread, Smoked Trout, Herbed Cream Cheese, Red Onion & Capers
I was happy with my smoked trout and I got it mainly because of the buckwheat bread. the onion and capers added some crunch and flavor.
