We had been to Tinga’s La Brea location several times before and we needed a snack in Santa Monica and decided to give their new location a try. This location was completely different from their other location. It was much bigger with more wait staff and looked like they spent more money on the décor than they needed. Service was slow and their tacos were not as good as the La Brea location. The short rib taco was Ginger and shiitake marinated CAB short rib with salsa verde and pickled red cabbage, raw tomatillo salsa, papas bravas, queso fresco, and crema. We had this taco many times before and for what ever reason the execution of this dish was a miss. Not as flavorful as the ones in the past. The tortilla texture was different also. The Al Pastor taco was Guajillo rubbed and pineapple marinated pork with Caribbean kick and grilled pineapple lime salsa, scotch bonnet peppers. This one was Ok, but we were very disappointed with the quality of their food. We will not return to this location.
