I was first told about Fava Pot by a car dealer manager who happened to be an Egyptian. Then I saw some pictures in one of the blogs that I read. So the day after our move, hungry and tired we drove to Fava Pot and hoped for the best. Service was friendly. The cafe was decorated with pictures of famous Egyptians. We enjoyed the appetizers more than the main as usually is the case.
It was nice and garlicy with a good consistency.
It was smoky and sweet from pomegranate molasses. It could almost pass as dessert!
It was really good. It reminded you of refried beans but much better with a good cumin and lime flavor.
Egyptian Lamb Shank
The shank was a little dry and the roasted potatoes were beyond salty.
