We had so much hope for Beaucoup and it was a mix bag. What was very odd to us, they served all their baked goods on the top of a napkin and most of their sweet croissants had a sugar or honey glaze on the bottom. So as you can imagine, sugar and napkin was a very sticky situation. I have never seen any other bakery do that.
My parents liked their Tropical Scone and Cheese & Green Onion Scone. My husband liked the Pine Nut Praliné Double Baked but I found it way too sweet. The Chocolate Almond Double Baked didn’t fair much better. The top was covered in powder sugar, the bottom was sticky from the sugar glaze and the chocolate inside was chocolate chips!! The best item was the Pear Blue Cheese Scroll with Rosemary that my brother and I enjoyed. Thank good this one was not buried in sugar. The texture was a little hard around the edges, but it was very tasty. The other savory item was the Cheese Croissant . It was almost too buttery but delicious. Our last item was Kouign Amann and it was OK and on the hard side. The tea and coffee they served was fine and overall a disappointing experience for the prices they charged.
