This was our last breakfast in Napa Valley and it was a big disappointment. We have been to the Beverly Hills location many times and I had to check out the original location. First of all the selection was much smaller than the BH location. Second the customer service left a lot to be desired. My husband selected the Monkey Bread and said it was fine. I selected the Pain au Chocolat and as I bit into it, I was surprised that half of the POC was a air pocket. I had never seen such a thing and after our experience the night before at Redd regarding the overcooked scallops, I didn’t want a repeat disappointment. I went up to the guy that had helped me and explained to him the problem. After arguing with me for a while, he told me that their Croissants are airy!! I told him I had croissants all over Paris and had never seen such a thing. He then whispered to another employee and she asked me about the problem. I explained to her and she asked me what I would like to do? I told her that I will take another Pain au Chocolat and hope for the best. The second one had a smaller air pocket, but the chocolate was on the sweet side. Nothing like the Tartine’s Pain au Chocolat. The Chocolate Bouchon was good. I was disappointed at how they handled the situation and I am sure Thomas Keller would not approve. Not the way I wanted to end my Napa trip.
